Use
a laptop/computer and
a headset
Ensure your computer/laptop has a good internet connection
Do not use a mobile phone to connect — you won't be able to show the presentation
Use a headset (headphones and microphone) to prevent echo and possible background noise that might interfere with your report.

Most likely, we will not be able to connect you after the session has started. You can ask questions to the technical specialists connected during the waiting time.
The session before yours might be delayed. You will see the message "Please wait, the meeting host will let you in soon" on the screen when the organizer starts the conference or when the organizer is participating in another conference. Do not worry, you will be connected as soon as the previous session ends.

Properly frame the shot
Sit facing the light source (window or lamp) so that your face is well-lit.
Sit so that your face and shoulders are visible in the frame. Ensure you do not move closer to the screen during your presentation.
Make sure there is no bright light behind you, otherwise your face will be dark.
Do not sit too close to the screen or point the camera below or far above eye level.
Correct. The face is lit, the face and shoulders are visible, the camera is at eye level.
Incorrect: The face is not lit — the light source is behind.
Incorrect: The face is too close to the camera.

Correctly indicate your name in Zoom
To join the conference, follow the link sent by the organizers.
Example of a conference link:

Surname Name Patronymic is displayed in the lower-left corner of the screen with your image.
IMPORTANT! Organizers will not be able to recognize you and will not let you into the conference if you use as your name:
Your institution's name
A relative's name
A social network nickname
Surname Name Patronymic
When you connect to the conference, ensure that your name is displayed correctly:

How to change your name in Zoom
Step 1.
Click on yourself in the participant list and select the "More" menu (three dots).
Step 2.
In the dropdown list, select "Rename"
Step 3.
Enter your name in the appeared window: Surname Name Patronymic.
Step 4.
Click the "Rename" button to confirm your action

Check the sound
Step 2.
When connecting to Zoom, click the "Join with Computer Audio" button.
Step 3.
Check that the correct device is connected by clicking the arrow in the Mute box. Switch the device and conduct a test if necessary.

Before connecting, check that the correct microphone and headphones are selected. We recommend using a headset — headphones and a microphone.
